One of the hottest home decor items these days is photo canvas. A photo canvas is where you turn your favorite photo into an instant work of art by having your photos mounted onto a piece of canvas. Many photo centers like Walgreens and Walmart or online companies such as Snapfish offer this service. The prices range from $25 and up depending on the size of your canvas. However, did you know that you can do it yourself for a fraction of the cost?
Today, I want to show you an easy, simple way to make your very own photo canvas. Using some very basic supplies listed below you can make one in an afternoon to give away as great gift. All you need is:
– Close to My Heart 6″ x 6″ My Creations Canvas Display (Z1818)
– Mod Podge (Matte)
– white tissue paper
– a piece of basic card stock
– spray adhesive
1. You will start with a blank canvas
2. Set up your photo using a photo editing software of Word on your computer. At this time you can add words onto the photo if you like.
3. Lightly spray your card stock with a spray adhesive
4. Apply a piece of white tissue paper a little larger than your photo onto the card stock.
5. Print picture onto the tissue paper/card stock.
6. After photo dries for a few minutes, carefully peal away the tissue paper from the card stock.
7. Apply a coat or two of Mod Podge onto the blank canvas.
8. Carefully place the photo onto the canvas and starting in the middle of the photo, smooth out the wrinkles.
8. After it dries, apply whatever type of embellishment you desire and enjoy.
It is so easy and fun that you will want to make several. You can purchase the Close to My Heart canvas (product # Z1818) directly from me at http://kayrochestamping.ctmh.com

We are a few days away from wrapping up the month of February. Of course Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but that doesn’t mean you stop telling the people you care about how much you love them. True love is not restricted to a day on the calendar or only shown a certain time of the year. With each and every new day, we should show our love to the people in our lives.
Today, we will look at a card I made with the Close to My Heart My Acrylix Stamp Set (S1301) for my honey for Valentine’s Day. This stamp set can be used anytime you want to express your love to someone.
This 6″ x 6″ card features lots of details, but is easy to make. The “With all my heart” portion was heat embossed on cranberry cardstock. The “Happy Valentine’s Day” was stamped on a shape cut from the Close to My Heart Artise Cricut Cartridge. The background paper was created by using the flower stamp from the “Flirty Scrapbooking Workshop Season & Nature” set (C1515).
I recently did a workshop with a wonderful group of ladies using these same elements and I was amazed at how each card came out different with each ladies’ creativity.

Today I am featuring a blog that I follow that has super cute DIY projects and other decorating ideas including monogrammed items. If you know me by now, you know how much this chicka loves anything monogrammed. The blog is forchicsake.com
I am in love with a printable I found on the blog recently for a monogrammed label for your iPhone charger. If you are like me and live with more than one person that owns an iPhone, you can never know where your’s is because they all look alike. Well, here is an end to that problem. You can customize your own label and end all that foolishness. Here is the link to the printable – forchicsake.com/dress-your-tech
Here is a pic of mines. Isn’t it the coolest thing? I absolutely love it.
Have fun customizing your labels. Hope you enjoy the blog and until next time, Happy crafting!

So the Summer Gift exchange I was telling you all about was so much fun! My giftee received her gift in the mail on yesterday and loved it. I also met my gifter in person for brunch at the Toast Restaurant in Charlotte. My gift from her was a piece of pottery that she handmade along with a felted soap bar and a felted butterfly. Here are some photos of the pottery. Isn’t it just lovely. Look at all the detail in it.
Today, we were featured on the following blog, http://www.craftaholicsanonymous.net/handmade-gift-exchange-features-summer-2012 for being the first to ever meet for the Gift exchange. According to the coordinator, the Gift Exchange chooses names in a random draw and this was the first time that she knew of where people who are paired up lived close to one another.
It was so nice meeting Debbie in person and I will cherish my gift always. Can’t wait for the next exchange. I guess I better get to brainstorming about possible gifts to make.
And until next time, “Happy Crafting!”
